Build and Quality of the Freemax Starre
The build on the Freemax Starre is really impressing the best vape tank list of 2015.
It uses something that is called borosilicate glass which means that it is less subject to thermal stress, making it more stable and different from the traditional Pyrex glass.
The upper and base hardware are manufactured from SS304 grade stainless steel.
The stainless steel used throughout the tank is of a high, medical grade quality, making the entire construction very safe to use and built with attention to quality and detail.
The base section has a notched stainless steel air control ring and dual airflow holes, which are easy to change.
Each setting clicks nicely when changing the airflow diameter and they have a very nice tactile feeling to them.
The intake holes are very deep and wide. The tank has a huge wide-bore drip tip.
There are a total of six settings to take advantage of, which is really nice.
You’ll also love that the Freemax Starre has medical grade cotton in the coil heads.
There are four holes on the bottom and four on top.
Like the Kanger Subtank, the air coming in through the air holes is pulled in through these holes in the bottom of the coil head and up the through the coil.
The difference is that they are really huge.
Wattage Range
The wattage on the Freemax Starre is impressive as well. It comes with a 0.5 ohm coil and the recommended range is from 20W to 60W.
Now what you may not know is that you can actually vape this at 150 watts but it’s not recommended.
It really vapes nicely around 40 watts to 50 watts where it’s cool with a clean, nice flavor. Anything after 30 watts is where you’ll find the sweet spots.
Around 60 it’s a little warm but you’ll see really impressive flavor. 70 watts is a little warm but still good and around 80-90 watts you’re still not experiencing dry hits.
Around 100 watts and you may notice that the flavor isn’t quite as good but it still works well and at 120W, still no dry hits but too much nicotine.
Of course you can go up to 150 watts like we said earlier but that’s not going to be your best hits at all. The best are still from 60 watts to 80 watts or so.
Overall, no matter what range is your preference, it really gives a nice hit without dryness and a clean flavor.
Please keep in mind, vaping at 100W or more will put a sizable strain on your batteries so make sure they are working well and that if you feel any large amount of heat being generated from them you stop using them at once.
Battery safety should be on your mind at all times when using advanced devices used with this tank or any tank.
What’s the Tank Like?
The tank is a large 5ml capacity which means you can vape longer.
It’s not a preference everyone likes but if you do, it holds the same amount of juice as the Atlantis Mega and a little less than the massive 7ml tank of the Subtank Plus.
It’s easy to fill and you won’t find a lot of leakage, which is a possibility with any tank.
We actually didn’t find any at all even after using it a few days so that’s a major plus with this tank or any tank.
What Kind of Box Mod is Best?
The Freemax Starre is great for the Cloupor T8, the Sigelei 100W and the Sigelei 150W.
The Freemax Starre will only work with a VW/VV mod that recognizes a sub ohm coil or mechanical mods with a 30A+ battery.
Final Thoughts
This is seriously a really sweet vape tank. The build is amazing and the attention to detail showcases just how well thought out the construction is from the manufacturer.
You’ll love the clouds and flavor from this sub ohm tank and there are just so many little things that add up to an amazing tank such as the amazingly crafted airflow and the extra durable tank.
Every little detail is meant to give you a tank that really sets the bar higher than the rest.
There are quite a few pros and very few cons but here they are:
Here are the major benefits of the Freemax Starre:
- No leaking
- Huge bore drip tip
- Excellent flavor
- Amazing air flow
- Awesomely manufactured airflow control
- Great vapor production
The cons are few but here are a couple of minor annoyances:
- This does not come with any extra o-rings
- The price is a little higher than other tanks but the quality is prime so you get what you pay for in this case
- The cost of coils is higher but they do last longer so it does kind of even out
- It is a little more difficult to fill
- Can lead to slow wicking
- There is a small gap between the coil housing and the glass
Overall, the benefits far outweigh the negatives and we highly recommend this tank for your vaping needs.
You’ll love the cloud production, the quality build of the tank, and the flavor production as well. What better way to sum it up than to share what comes on the box,
“The Starre is a revolutionary tank system made of high quality stainless steel and glass. The Starre tank uses a long-lasting Dual Vertical Coil (DVC) system that is unique to the industry. Low sub-ohm resistance provides outstanding performance that rivals an RDA. Offering dual airflow holes and eight adjustments, the Starre provides an outstanding airflow system. This Tank gives massive clouds, a smooth vaping experience, and an incredibly pure taste!”
This is such a great tank and I think you should really try to pick one up ass soon as you can!
