This updated box mod has some pretty cool features and functions. For one thing, it’s water resistant. There is also a neat touch sensor you can use like an additional fire button.
This is located on the top and you can choose whether you want to use it or not. It is easily turned off with the buttons located next to the display. It is however, easy to use and you might like it better than the regular firing button.
In terms of performance, the IPV 2S is very powerful. It has amazing vapor production and the cloud production is simply amazing.
In fact, you may not need 60 watts of power, but it is certainly ample enough just in case you do want that much. If not, well that option is always open for you.

How Does it Look?
While the iPV 2S looks similar to its predecessor, there are a few changes like we mentioned in the opening.
The iPV 2S has smoother rounded edges and the buttons which are recessed and much more ‘clicky’ to the touch.
The colors are black and white and the while there aren’t a lot of changes to the look other than these two things, they’re still nice changes.
There is a touch sensor on the top, with a USB port and vent holes on the bottom.
On the side, there are three buttons and a display. It’s made out of aluminum and feels pretty lightweight and comfortable to use.
Threading
The threading is a 510 connection which of course, we’d be surprised if it was anything else.
Obviously, this just means that you can use all of your favorite tanks and when is that ever a bad thing?
Battery
The battery is an 18650 and the iPV 2S can be charged via the USB cable that is provided.
To remove the battery you simply unscrew the back two screws and replace it when needed. There are quite a few batteries that are recommended for this device such as:
- Aspire 18650 ICR 1800mAh Flat Top Battery – 40A
- Efest Purple 18650 IMR 3100mAh Flat Top Battery – 20A
- LG 18650 HE2 2500mAh Flat Top Battery – 35A Pulse
- Samsung INR18650 25R 2500mAh Flat Top Battery – 20A
- Sony 18650 VTC3 1600mAh Flat Top Battery – 30A
Display Screen
The iPV 2S has a nice CMLED screen with white OLED .96″ display that shows voltage, wattage, resistance, and battery charge.
It also has a nice power saving feature where the display will dim after a few seconds and then shuts off after one minute.
Protection Features
There are a few protection features built in to the iPV 2S which are helpful including:
- Reverse Polarity Protection
- Output Short Protection
- Low Resistance Protection
- Battery Low Voltage Protection
Many of you already know this, but box mods aren’t for beginners so have a good working knowledge of electronics or at least some experience.
This box mod has quite a few safety features but it is important to know what you’re doing.
How to Use the iPV 2S
To use the iPV 2S, simply hit the + button to go to the preset you want (M1, M2, etc), then use the minus ( – ) button to start the move to your desired wattage (you can still move up, but you have to start with the minus button at first.
Once there, hit the fire button and it will save.
With a few simple clicks you can easily adjust the wattage output from 7.0W to 60.0W in 0.1 increments to customize your desired vapor production, throat hit, and taste.
Similar Box Mods
There are a few similar box mods you can find that may give you features complimentary to the IPV 2S.
They’re not the same obviously but you will get an idea of how well this one functions by comparing the similar ones, some of which you may already own. iPV2.
Our first choice is obviously the iPV2 simply because this is an upgrade to that version.
- iPV2. The iPV2 50W Box Mod is one of the most advanced mods on the market. It’s a radical device that is very powerful, super dependable and has amazing features. This box mod is rocking the new SX330 chip and you can vape as low as .2 ohms all the way up to 50 watts.
- Project Sub-Ohm Briefcase. The Project Sub-Ohm “briefcase” 60 Watt Box Mod by SMY features one of the most brilliant screens in the industry today. It has a highly advanced user interface, and 60 watts of pure power, combining for an ultra advanced device at an ultra competitive price! The new version 1.2 features a brighter screen and an improved door.
Best Tanks or Clearomizers for the iPV 2S Box Mod
You probably have your favorite tank or clearomizer that you use and with the 510 connection, you can most likely use it on the iPV 2S.
The iPV2S 60 Watt Box MOD will accept atomizers with a resistance range of 0.2ohm to 3.0ohm.
Here are a couple of our favorite tanks that you will find compatible with the iPV 2S to give you unlimited power vapes and flavor.
- Kanger Aerotank Turbo. The newest member of the Kanger Aerotank family features not just one but two dual coils. This gives you a total of four coils for maximum flavor and vapor production. This clearomizers uses two 1.8 ohm dual coils, which means the resistance is actually 0.9 sub ohm.
- Aspire Atlantis Sub Ohm Tank. With a brand new sub-ohm coil design and adjustable airflow, the Atlantis Aspire Tank is the next big thing. The Aspire Atlantis features 0.5 – 0.7 ohm coils. So you can run high VG e-liquid through your tank without any problems.
Final Verdict
The iPV 2S is a really nice box mod that gives a lot of power and flavor. It’s not fancy but it does have all of the bells and whistles you’d expect from a well built box mod.
It also has a few extras like the water resistance and the touch sensor you can use as a firing button.
Here is a list of the newest features:
- Variable Wattage: 7.0W ~ 60.0W in 0.1 increments
- Upgradeable to 70W through firmware
- Memory settings so you can have 5 optional user determined preset wattage
- Recessed dome-shaped buttons
- Inner shell is made from a thicker material
- Rounded (beveled) edges
Of course you have the 60 watts of power and the upgradeable chip to 75 watts if you want that much powerful vaping ability.
The look is nice, nothing too fancy but the main thing is functionality and performance and the IPV 2S really delivers on all accounts.
