Lotus Jellyfish Review

The Jellyfish Mod by Lotus is the newest 50W mod on the market except in this case, it’s 53 watts. The reason for the difference?

Lotus JellyfishThe company recently explained that they want to ensure that it is 100% accurate and instead of showing an approximate rating, they actually give the true rating so that you always know exactly what you’re getting.

This box mod is compared to the jellyfish due to its grace and beauty, yet beastly nature. In this case, beastly means incredible puffy clouds and taste that can’t be beat.

In this Lotus Jellyfish review, we’ll take a look at what sets this device apart from other similar mods on the market.

Voltage and Watts

The battery on the Jellyfish Mod is a long-lasting 4000 mAh 3.7v polymer battery.

This device has a monitor on the surface temperature that ensures that if the battery gets over 75 centigrade, it will cut the power.

This is just one of the many safety features on this particular mod.

It actually has two internal batteries at 3.7v 2000 mAh 15c 45A each for the total of 4000 mAh.

Safety Measures of the Lotus Jellyfish 53W Box Mod

The safety measures on the Jellyfish Box Mod are many. They include:

  • Overcharge protection
  • Temperature protection
  • Low resistance protection
  • Over discharge protection
  • Short circuit protection

In fact, on the overcharge protection, when the device reaches 100%, the Jellyfish Mod will immediately stop charging.

When the voltage is lower than 2.8 – 2v, the over discharge protection comes into effect.

As with any device of this nature, you should have a good grasp on mods and electronics.

These are not the kind of devices that beginners or first time vapers should try to use. Make sure you do your research!

Threading on the Jellyfish Mod

The threading on the Lotus Jellyfish is a spring loaded 510 connection.

This ensures all of the atomizers sit flush. The atomizer resistance range is between .25 ohm to 3.0 ohm, so sub-ohm tanks will work great on the Jellyfish Box Mod.

Additionally, The device also detects the proper resistance of the atomizer which makes it easier to use seamlessly each time.

More From The Jellyfish

Lotus JellyfishIt comes with a ton of awesome features and specifications as well as the fact that you get a true reading the wattage you’re using.

We like that the OLED screen shows real-time voltage and wattage.

One thing to note is that it basically has an inline wattage and voltage meter so you don’t have to worry about clicking or waking it up.

It’s always there for you any time you use it.

Another feature that can be taken advantage of is that it has output charging.

Now this isn’t the most important thing when it comes to a box mod but it is convenient to be able to charge things like your iPad, iPhone, or other media devices.

The protection on the Lotus Jellyfish is pretty impressive as well.

You get all kinds of protective benefits that can help ensure your safety as well as the longevity of your device.

Aesthetics of the Jellyfish Box Mod from Lotus

The look of the Lotus Jellyfish 53W mod is nice and unique.

While there are only two colors to choose from, gun metal and white, the jellyfish logo is on the side and it looks neat too.

It’s not your usual jellyfish but instead looks fierce and, as the company states, beastly.

Some vendors do show multiple colors including the gun metal and white but also blue, green, pink, red, and purple so shop around and you may find the exact color you want.

The display screen is at the top on the front of the box mod and displays all of the information you need to know such as battery power that is left, voltage, wattage, and more.

It is displayed in the popular greenish blue color and is pleasant to look at.

Final Thoughts

Lotus Jellyfish (3)The Lotus Jellyfish 53W Box Mod is pretty impressive.

Overall, this is quite a box mod.

It is a tad more expensive than a few of the other similar mods, but it has a lot to offer.

This is a mod meant for lower builds at higher wattage because of the Power Boost that increases the power output for the first half second or more, after hitting the fire button.

This cuts down on coil ramp up time, giving the user consistent hits that are quick.

Just bought mine, got it for 30 bucks brand new to go with my Nautilus. Hope it’s halfway strong and resilient but couldn’t beat the price.

Worst investment ever. I bought this product (jellyfish) because of its features and warranty. Boy did I make a mistake. First jellyfish that I had I had to return to the seller 2 days later because it would not charge. He replaced it for me and gave me a new one. Second one I had for a month, and it starts falling apart, literally. All of the screws started to come undone, and would no longer fire. The retail seller would not do anything for me this time so I had to send it back to lotus for a new one. I sent it back, and guess what happens, it is backordered for 3 months. So while I’m waiting I have to get another mod in the meantime. Finally 3 months later I get the jellyfish. Works great for the first month. A month later, it is not reading the cargo correctly and firing at really high temperatures. So what do I do? Call customer service. Calling customer service she tells me that my warranty has expired and nothing she can do for me. Even though she gave me a brand new one in the mail a month prior to this, they went back to my original purchase date which was in January. I’ve had possession of this for 3 months total and it doesn’t work. I’m out $150 and this company does nothing for me. Most expensive paperweight ever. Stay away at all costs!!!!

Mine lasted a while but was loosing ground..took a part and tightened ground screw on circuit board..then in the midst of getting my ground screw reconnected, all the screws began to strip out on top and bottom causing loss of ground once it rigged with bigger screws on top and have to hold the top portion tilted to the side to get a ground from the screws to the box I’s a shame cuz it worked for quite sometime..then started having issues with the mod loosing ground..still works but it’s rigged..I wish I could get it somewhat in good working condition or else maybe use internal parts to build a mod..maybe mechanical? But the problem is USB charger works good and I like all the safety features..and the LED screen is nice…need to find screws just the right thickness to thread in but not stick up half an inch to an inch..maybe I could try sawing them off shorter

    • Brett says:

Wouldn’t fire because I believe them screws on top especially have something to do with mod having a ground. .food for thought..try to find screws to fit more secure..good is a halfway decent mod with cool display and logo..also packs a pretty good punch..may get mine out and monkey with it a bit

    • Brett says:

The higher voltage wattage is common because the way the mod was designed..just have to get a feel for it and find comfortable settings..I like my ipv3 li but it would be nice to have my jellyfish operational
