The Mad Hatter RDA is a favorite as far as an atomizer goes and it’s not just because of the awesome name.
I will admit that I was instantly attracted to the RDA because of its name.
I have been a HUGE fan of Alice in Wonderland since childhood and being able to own a tank that was named after one of my favorite characters is something that excited me.
The thing is that the Mad Hatter RDA has a number of things that you are going to appreciate and love.
What’s New – Mad Hatter RDA??
The Mad Hatter RDA features a number of things that you might have seen on a rebuildable atomizer in the past but there are also a few key features that are unique and interesting.
One of the things that I have to mention in the Mad Hatter RDA review is that it is capable of producing some of the biggest clouds that I have ever experienced.
The extra large clouds are produced in part because of the extra large airholes that the RDA atomizer has.
In addition there is a huge well that allows for the mod to have a decent amount of e-liquid.
This causes there to be more e-liquid to pull from for the larger clouds.
The way that the airflow is directed with this mod is by pulling from underneath the coils. Another unique design is that it has a flip top feature.
This is where I think that the name comes from. When you flip the top it looks like you are taking off a top hat.
So I am assuming that someone noted this and named the mod the Mad Hatter.
Personally I think that this ingenious because it makes people, including myself, want to own the mod even more.
I know that to some, to admit that I want a mod because of a name is silly but it is true, and for me it is something that can make me want to purchase a product that I might not necessarily need.
The top of the Mad Hatter RDA features the drip tip.
This is an attached drip tip so if you do not like that part of the tank there is not much that you can do about.
In fact this is something that I have noted as a downside before with some mods.
With the Mad Hatter I really like this style of drip tip so it was not something that would detour me from making the purchase.
Now as for the airflow you should also note that you can adjust the airflow. This allows you to get smaller or larger clouds.
It can really help you to make sure that you are being allowed the vaping experience that you are looking for.
The overall airflow is routed from underneath where the coils are at. There are also adjustable airflow holes on the deck.
This allows you to take control and make your vaping experience your own.
I prefer tanks that have adjustable airflow so that my husband and I can both use the same tanks on our mods.
It is nice when he can get the small clouds that he enjoys and I can get the large clouds that I enjoy.
Something else that I really like about the Mad Hatter RDA is that it is built to last.
It is made from stainless steel which we all know to be the best material for tanks.
It also has machined post screws which means that it is more durable and less likely to break.
This is something that I find breaks easily on some mods so knowing that I am not going to have this issue with the Mad Hatter is something that makes me like it even more.
The three post deck design and large lead holes make this RDA easier to use.
While most RDAs are not recommended for a beginner who has just started vaping, this is one RDA that is great for anyone.
You will find that someone who has no previous RDA experience can purchase this RDA and figure out how to use it with ease.
Of course that does not mean that safety precautions should not still be taken. In fact it is just as important that safety precautions be followed with all RDAs including this one.
Some users have complained that they had a hard time getting the coils into place since you are just inserting them into the base rather than having it all taken apart.
There are a few things that I will say about this. I will admit that I have small hands. So if you have very large hands it might not be as easy for you.
I did find that I was able to swap out coils with very little effort overall.
Plus I found that it made it easier to not lose anything and quicker because I did not have to put it all back together, both of these being very positive things about this unique design.
I really did not notice any problems, but since I had seen so many complaints on other peoples’ reviews I wanted to address this.

New to RDAs? Learn About the Basics of Ohms
One thing that always frightens me when I write reviews about RDAs is how dangerous they can be in the wrong hands.
That is right, you need to at least have some idea of what you are doing if you are going to be using a RDA.
One thing is for certain, before you can get started with any RDA you should know about Ohm’s law.
There are three main electrical properties that are part of Ohm’s law.
1. V is for voltage.
2. I is for current.
3. R is for resistance.
Voltage is the electrical potential difference.
The basic way to understand this is that with a 9V battery there are 9 volts between the positive and negative posts.
Volts are the form of measurement used for voltage.
The current is how the electrons flow and the unit of measurement used is amperes (or amps for short).
The resistance is how the object can oppose the flow of electricity.
The overall power of an RDA comes from the wattage.
The more power that you have the more flavor and vapor clouds you can have.
So in general terms a mod that has more power is going to produce bigger clouds but there are some smaller mods that have huge cloud potential as well, so do not let this trip you up.
Make sure that you study up on these laws and that you learn about how they all interact before you begin your RDA journey.
This way you can ensure that you are always doing the safest thing possible.
Choosing a regular ohm is going to be the safest choice for your vaping journey.
If you choose sub ohm models there are some things that are potentially dangerous so make sure that you really read up on how to do these before you use them.
Just remember that whatever you are using, make sure your battery is able to safely support it.

Final Thoughts on the Mad Hatter RDA
I love a good RDA. I also love fun things that make me think of something else.
With the Mad Hatter RDA’s fun new design with the top flip that opens like a top hat, I love that I get to have a RDA that works well and features everything that we have been looking for.
I love the fact that this RDA is made from stainless steel and that it has large holes and permanent machine screw posts that are meant to last.
I also love the ease of using this and think that it would be perfect for someone who is venturing into the world of RDAs for the first time.
One thing is for certain, even as a veteran vapor I found the user’s manual to be a bit confusing.
So I would highly recommend reading up a lot on using an RDA if this is your first one.
There are quite a few safety concerns with using RDAs especially if you are using them for sub ohm vaping.
So make sure that you have the electrical current test kits and such that are recommended before use.
Always check any RDA that you have built and make sure that you have the proper flow of electricity before using.
This is not something that you want to blindly use.
If you are not a fan of the stainless steel color then you might want to check out one of the many Mad Hatter RDA clones that offer you additional color options to choose from.
I have seen colors that vary greatly and offer a little something for everyone in the clone models while the original does not have anything but stainless steel at this time.
There is a promise of more added colors in the future but since they are not available you would not actually be able to get your hands on them for a while.
