Magma RDA Review

One thing about technology is that it is always changing and for us vapers, that is a great thing because there are so many new things to try and experience.

The Paradigm company brought us the authentic Magma rebuildable dripping atomizer which is highly sought after.

Infinite has now made a Magma RDA clone originally called the Magma but has since changed the name to the Lava, which brings us the same unique RDA design that provides functionality and originality with the two post layout.

Originally, this clone from Infinite had the same branding and logo, making it seem as if it was the authentic version.

However, a change in production, and possibly due to copyright issues.

This version is now called the Lava RDA Clone.

You do get a pair of pre-built coils in the package, which you can use or build your own.

It has a simple design with absolutely no gaskets. Instead, the band is placed over the base of the device and the top screws on.

What is New in the Magma RDA

This RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer) is comprised of three parts.

The top cap and deck sections of the RDA are made out of stainless steel which is milled, then it has a brass, copper, or stainless steel airflow control ring.

There are a variety of different hole sizes you can find along the side of this band in order for you to increase or decrease the airflow, which is done by blocking parts of the intake ports.

The Magma RDA Clone a 22mm diameter dripper which makes it sit more flush to your existing device, which is a huge plus.

The airflow control adjusts from 1mm up to dual 3mm so it is a perfect fit for a variety of tastes and preferences.

What is unique about the Magma RDA is that the air holes in it make a 90 degree turn that leads through the side up to the top of the thick sidewalls beneath the coils.

What this does is help lessen the chance of your ejuice seeping out of the air holes while still allowing you to have a deep juice well.

What you get is what looks like a figure eight or dog bone shape with rounded areas underneath each two posts.

The two posts are reinforced by durable welding so that it is more sturdy and each post has a 3mm hole, making your rebuild easier and have better conductivity.

What this means is that there is a two post design instead of a center post, which typically makes it easier for dual coil building.

How this helps is that you can still build a bigger single coil or a dual coil without having to fuss with a middle post that gets in your way.

This extended juice basin will let you get up to around 40 or so drops of juice, or about 1ml, without much risk of leaking.

There are always going to be a few leaks with using an RDA but the big figure eight drip well does help and you can alleviate some of the leakage by building longer wicks that fill up the drip well by at least half.

Obviously, how you use your RDA affects leakage as well; don’t place it on its side and try not to overfill either.

The domed cap is another feature that is innovative. This concave cap provides more flavor and juice quality for some and really packs on the flavor.

More about the Magma Clone

When building, the coils are placed horizontally and that is typical with RDAs, but the difference is that you will run the wick through the coil and then down the 10mm deep liquid well, which means less time in between having to drip again because you can load up on the E Juice.

The major first difference in the two is the coating. The original Magma, the authentic one, has a black Teflon coated 304 stainless steel and comes with its logo and engravings.

The Magma Clone (Lava) has stainless steel as well but has a different visual appearance and since the name is now Lava instead of having the Magma logo, you will see that instead but most still sell the clone with the Magma labels.

Basically, you’re getting a similar product to the authentic one but the appearance is just not going to look quite the same.

Supposedly, you won’t see a difference in performance between the two as far as clouds and taste but Magma has issued a statement that the clone is most likely copied from their first batch and has a few flaws.

They state that you can tell if you have bought an authentic Magma by checking the poles because theirs will have a space between the poles.

Final Thoughts

The Magma RDA clone seems to be an excellent addition to the latest rebuildable dripping atomizers.

The dual direct to coil air holes helps create a vaping experience that is rich in flavor and produces plenty of clouds.

With the variety of air hole size selections, you can easily change your vaping experience.

Mostly, this is an RDA at an excellent price and provides excellent flavor.

It has a positive insulator to help lessen the chance of melting and maintenance is easier with the design that is lacking an o-ring.

While it does try to eliminate leakage, some reviewers have said that it actually sometimes leaks more than others so your mileage may vary when it comes to this device.

However, all users have notated a distinct upgrade in the flavor and quality of the vape so that is a positive that we can get behind.
