When we heard that they were teaming up with Kanger on a next generation clearomizer, well we had to sit up and take notice.

The Kanger UFO v2 designed by Mig Vapor is a dual coil clearomizer with adjustable airflow controls, and we were lucky enough to get our hands on one for testing.

Can this latest offering even hope to live up to the lofty standard held up by the Subtank line? Find out in today’s Mig Vapor x Kanger UFO v2 Tank Review.

What’s New- MigVapors x Kanger UFO v2

The Mig Vapors x Kanger UFO v2 Tank brings an all new atomizer design to a bottom dual coil profile encased in your choice of interchangeable Pyrex and stainless steel tanks.

This innovative new tank also features adjustable airflow controlled by a dial at the base o the unit to give the user precision control over vapor temperature and density.

Performance

The Kanger name comes with certain expectations, and we’re happy to report the UFO v2 meets them all.

Clean, dense and flavorful vapor were easy to achieve with the slightest pull, and there was no burnt taste even with some of our more powerful mods cranked up near the limit.

This one is sure to be a hit with the cloud chasers, as high wattage had much more of an effect on temperature than flavor.

The adjustable airflow performed admirably as well, boasting a pretty wide range of settings that can be easily adjusted with the control dial.

Simply put, the Mig Vapors x Kanger UFO v2 Tank exhibits some of the best performance we’ve seen.

It seems as though no matter how impressed we are with a standby like the Subtank, each Kanger-backed release is a good bet to top the last.

Build Quality

As if incredible performance wasn’t enough to announce this as one of the buys of the year, the build quality of the unit may be even better.

The Mig Vapors x Kanger UFO v2 tank is extraordinarily well built, with good weight and an extremely solid overall feel thanks to its high quality stainless steel construction.

The airflow control mechanism worked very smoothly without feeling loose, although we would have liked slightly more of a click in adjustment.

Manufacturing quality was also highly rated, with sharp machining and clearly etched logos standing as subtle hallmarks of the unit’s overall quality.

As for the containment vessel, Pyrex is some of the most durable glass there is, but the UFO development team apparently didn’t think that was quite good enough.

They included a stainless steel sleeve to serve in place of the glass tank in case you’re exceptionally rough on your tanks.

All told, we reckon you’d have to shoot this thing to bust it beyond simple repairs, whether you go to those lengths to prove us wrong is your choice.

Compatible Mods

It will fit on the majority of mods due to the 510 connection, but here are a couple of suggestions for you.

Eleaf iStick 50w Box Mod

The Eleaf iStick series is one of the most widely used mods in the vaping community for good reason.

Not only is it outfitted with a full suite of safety features to make it ideal for beginners, experienced vapers are sure to appreciate its enormous 4400 mAh batter capacity and side-mounted charging port to allow the iStick to stand while charging.

We took a look at the Eleaf iStick 50w Box Mod here at BC, so check it out to learn more.

Innokin iTaste MVP 3.0

This edition of the iTaste MVP line continues to be a staff pick months after its release because most manufacturers have spent that period playing catch-up to this near-perfect unit.

Innokin is known for the quality and performance of its products, so the high marks in the review for it here on BC should come as no surprise.

What is surprising is exactly how useful its mobile power source feature can be, as the the MVP’s high capacity battery gives it plenty of juice to share with your other mobile devices.

Threading

The Mig Vapor’s x Kanger UFO v2 features standard 510 threading for widespread compatibility with mods and other vaping equipment.

It also includes an eGo beauty ring so nobody down at the vape shop will make fun of that awkward looking adapter.

Compare With…

Arctic Sub-Ohm Tank

The Arctic Sub-Ohm tank was designed as the final word in sub-ohm tanks, featuring a bottom turbine dual coil design that can be fired down to 0.2 ohms at up to 100 watts.

Don’t try that with a plastic tank. The Arctic Tank also features Organic Cotton Coil for amazing flavor in every puff, so its high level of performance puts it in the same conversation with devices like the UFO v2.

Kanger Subtank Mini

When you operate at a certain level your most viable competition is yourself, and Kanger’s line of clearomizers is a fairly decent example of that.

The Subtank Mini is the closest match for the UFO V2 in performance, and while the Mini might have it beat on capacity with 3.0mL at its disposal, it’s hard to imagine the newcomer being matched for pure durability.

We Would Have Liked to See…

When a manufacturer comes this close to nailing it, you almost hate to even offer criticism…but if we truly hated it, we should have probably found different professions long ago.

The Mig Vapor’s x Kanger UFO v2 is outstanding for what it is, but if we’re being perfectly honest, a 2.5 mL tank capacity is pretty meager when 3 is the low end of standard.

We’ve also been seeing an influx of top filler tanks arrive to market in recent months, and since we’ve fallen in love with the profile around these parts we’d love to see it offered in a future UFO sighting.

Overview

Overall, the Mig Vapor’s x Kanger UFO v2 Tank is a highly successful design.

Everything they did worked, and although we think they could have done a bit more and created an industry standard with a bit more tweaking, we can pretty much guarantee nobody is going to complain.

The UFO v2 is the next generation of Kanger design, and it should be landing in a vape shop near you in a matter of days.
