Smok Xpro M80 Plus Review

The Smok Xpro M80 Plus is the box mod that is putting Smok on the map with high wattage box mods.

It is their attempt to create a box mod that goes where no former box mod has gone.

Right now the Smok M80 Plus is on pre-order so if you want to get your own, it is going to be a while before you will have it in your hands. It will go well with your Top E Juice flavor.

Of course you can pick your preferred color but if you want to get one in your hands as soon as possible, you might have to choose another color of your Xpro M80 Plus.

Features of the Smok Xpro M80 Mod

There are a number of worthwhile features that should be mentioned when you are discussing the Xpro M80 Plus Review.

What’s New – Smok Xpro M80 Plus

The Smoktech Xpro M80 Plus is small for the amount of power that it has.

It is similar in size to the previously released M22 but it is more than two times as powerful.

The look of the Xpro M80 plus is simple and clean.

The best part about this mod for many users is that it is small in size but powerful.

Thanks to the aluminum alloy and zinc body the entire unit weighs a paltry 174 grams, which makes it very nice to take with you regardless of where you are going.

The body is well vented and houses two Lithium Polymer batteries (size 18650) that are built in. Together the two batteries perform at a combined 4400mAh.

This means that you can charge it and not worry about it being powerless for two days or longer.

Many users like that they can go throughout a weekend without having to worry about charging their mod.

In fact if you are a moderate vaper, there is a good chance that you will be able to vape for a week without having to charge the unit.

If you want to vape while you charge you can do so with the included USB cable.

Does Size Matter?

Many people are shocked that the Smok Xpro M80 is just 17mm wider than the M22 since the M22 only contains one battery. The dimensions are otherwise the same for the two mods.

This is a really nice feature if you travel or are on the go and want to have your mod handy and ready to use, but not take up much space.

Plus this durable unit is very lightweight, which means that it is not too heavy to comfortably throw into your purse or pocket.

Does this Mod have Style?

The Smok M80 mod comes in a few classic shades.

You will be able to match it to your preferred jewelery or cufflinks but there are no designer patterns/colors like some companies offer.

This is not really a big deal if you are looking for a great high powered mod in a small package, but if you have your heart set on a candy colored hue then it might not be the best choice for you.

You will be able to choose from gold, silver, grey, or black.

The screen clearly displays your puff count, battery level, resistance reading, wattage, or the voltage.

Extra Incentives

Many people never use the puff count reading but others find that it is a nice feature that can help them to monitor their vaping habits.

Of course you do want to use an independent meter from time to time to make sure that the mod is reading correctly.This is important to make sure that you are vaping safely.

You will be able to use a variety of different atomizers as well with the Smok Xpro 80W Mod.

You can use your favorite RDA, RBA, and tank with the mod which makes it handy and convenient.

The max power of this box mod is 80W which means that some people find it necessary to use a drip tip atomizer for the vaping experience that they are looking for.

Depending on how you want to vape, this might be the solution that you need.

Temperature Control

Additionally the unit offers temperature control features that make it easy to make sure that you are not getting vapor that is too hot and prevents you from burning your wick.

It allows you to regulate the temperature between 100-600 degrees.

This is nice if you are looking for a nice cool cloud of vapor and prefer to not have warmer clouds.

The unit even has a newly introduced vape planning feature.

There is not a lot of information about this feature that has been released yet because the unit is still so new to the market and most are not available except through a pre-order.

(Those who have gotten their hands on these box mods have done so for the purpose of reviewing them which means that there might still be a few tweaks taking place before the final version makes it into your hands.)

Knowing your Numbers

You can expect that the display is going to be clear and easy to read as it is with all of the Smok products.

This means that there will never be any guessing about the voltage, wattage, or battery life that you have left.

You will be able to clearly read it from the monitor screen.

Users often complain about the display features on other brands but rarely is there is a complaint made about the Smok line of products.

Built In Batteries

Any Smok Xpro M80 review should mention that you no longer need to unscrew the back of the device to remove and charge batteries.

Since the batteries are built it in, it makes charging easier and more convenient.

This was an answer to many customer complaints about the inconveniences of having to remove batteries to charge the min previous models that Smok manufactured. The battery capacity is 4400 mAh for the X-Pro.

While some mods have changed to the convenient magnetic lids, it appears that this was not an option that Smok wanted to go with.

Of course it does mean that you are left hoping that the Smok Xpro M80 is going to hold a charge with its batteries as long as you want to use the mod.

With newer mods coming out all of the time that are top of the line or offer more features than the previous model this is likely to be the case.

So by the time the batteries won’t hold a charge, you will probably want to move up to a newer model anyways.

Vape Safely

There are a number of great safety features that are built in to the Xpro M80 Plus by Smok.

These include a temperature warning feature that will warn you if you are vaping above 600 C which is the highest recommended temperature to use.

If you are vaping higher than this, it could potentially be dangerous so this feature is necessary and one that is going to make it easier for you to be able to work with.

The best thing to do if you should get your coil hotter than 600 C is allow it to cool for a bit.

This will help you to ensure that you are vaping safely.

Another warning that you should be aware of is if you start to feel warmth.

If you are feeling warmth while you are holding the mod then there is a problem and you want to allow for the mod to cool down some before continuing to vape.

There are a lot of vent holes on the bottom of the box mod which are there to help keep it cool. Over vaping can cause a problem with this. 

Which means that you can end up with a mod that is just vaping too hot.
