Tesla Vortek Tank Review | Sub-Ohm Vape Tank

The Tesla Vortek is one of the newest sub-ohm tanks available on the market today.

There are a number of special features that will make this tank a contender as one of the most popular choices available.

These tanks also have additional features like temperature control and wire that has been made in the USA and actually support sub ohm vaping with ranges between 0.2 ohm and 0.5 ohm.

What’s New – Tesla Vortek Tank?

Any Tesla Vortek tank review should first look at the price point. This tank is available for between $20 and $25 depending on where you purchase it. The price point is pretty much average for tanks so there is nothing specific to say about that.

This tank has a very impressive 7 ml tank capacity which is great for those of us who like to vape a lot all day long. It features Ni200 coils which work for 0.2 ohm and 0.5 ohm temperature controlled sub ohm vaping. When you need to replace the coils you can pick up the regular Kanthal coils which is nice. Each one of the coils has a special juice flow control which can work with a variety of VG and PG ratios.

The two Ni200 coils that are included should only be used with a temperature control box mod. This is important to remember for your safety. You also need to remember to allow your coil to saturate completely before you attempt to use it. This is another thing that is important as it is going to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable vaping experience. If you have experienced the discomfort of a dry hit then you will understand this. If you have not, I can guarantee you that you do not want to.

Depending on what temperature you are vaping at, the clouds might not be as big as desired. In fact I discovered that when I was vaping on a lower temperature setting with this one that I was only producing smaller clouds. Since I am not a cloud chaser, this did not really matter to me but for those who are cloud chasers, this could be a frustrating experience. Picking the temperature to vape at is something that I think is a personal preference. My husband likes to vape at higher temperatures than I do. I personally like nice cool hits when I am vaping. I did notice that when I tried vaping at higher temperatures that I was able to produce bigger clouds. This is something that I would consider before you buy this because sometimes I do want bigger clouds and this is not going to be the tank for me when I want my bigger clouds without having to raise the temperature.

Regardless of the temperature that I was vaping at, I really loved the flavor from this tank. I noticed that it produced a nice clean flavor that was intense and delicious. With some of my e-liquids, I had a hard time not chewing because they tasted so real. The coils fit into the tank horizontally. Lately it seems that most coils are vertical so this seemed to be a little bit of a step back in time. The coil placement does not feel as modern as what some of the tanks offer. I also appreciated that I was able to get such delicious flavor from the tank. The Ni200 coils offer you the ability to have improved flavor quality which is always something that I am looking for.

There are actually three different juice flow holes present on the coils. When you read the user’s manual you will learn that you are supposed to use different juice flow holes with different wattage settings. Since you are not supposed to use just variable wattage with this type of coil, I found these directions to be a bit confusing. Plus I was reminded that they could be dangerous for those who are not familiar with vaping. So be careful when using this tank and make sure that you are not using VW with the Ni200 coils.

If you like nice large airflow hole then you are likely to be disappointed with this tank. The airflow holes are not very big which can be frustrating for those who like a more open airflow while vaping. I noticed when I was vaping that I never got the full inhale that I was wanting. It seemed as though I could not get enough air to vape the way that I prefer. This did not make it a bad tank but it did remind me why I like tanks that offer bigger holes because I love being able to have a tank that offers me this type of full air hit.

This tank boasts a very large 7 ml capacity. This is something that you do not often see with tanks. I love this feature and wish that all tanks were this big. It was so nice to be able to vape for longer than a day without having to refill my e-liquid. I would rate this as a great choice for camping trips and traveling because it would be so convenient to not have to try and refill your tank while you are driving or in transit. As far as I know, there is only one other tank on the market that is this large.

What’s Included – Tesla Vortek Tank?

  • 1 x Tesla tank (7 ml capacity)
  • 1 x 0.2 ohm Ni200 Temp Sensing Coil (remember to only use this with a temperature control mod)
  • 1 x 0.5 ohm Ni200 Temp Sensing Coil (remember to only use this with a temperature control mod)

Clearing Up Confusion with the Ni200 Coils

There was a lot of confusion for me as a more experienced vaper with the Ni200 coils. The Tesla Vortek tank came with instructions for how to use the tank with different wattage settings. This information seems out of place. In fact it s recommended that you never use wattage with the Ni200 coils so this is why I find it so confusing. Due to safety standards, the Ni200 coils should only be used in temperature controlled mods. They should not be used with variable wattage mods which is why I found the user’s manual to be so confusing. It showed different choices with these coils that are recommended for safety reasons not to happen. If someone were a new vaper there is a good chance that they might not understand this and that they could potentially sustain an injury.

So if you are going to be using the Tesla Vortek Tank ignore the directions where they tell you that this tank can be used with variable wattage mods. Instead opt for the safest option with the temperature controlled mods. This is going to prevent many dangerous accidents from occurring.

Final Thoughts – Tesla Vortek Tank

One of the things that I have to mention is that this tank is disappointing if you prefer nice big clouds or deep inhales. You are not going to be able to get either of these. Now if you are the type of vaper that does not care about clouds and likes to take smaller hits then this could be a great choice for you. I would recommend it to newer vapers who seem to get too big of a hit from some tanks, because it really will not allow you to get those deep air filled draws that you can get from other tanks on the market. I also did not like that it suggested in the user’s manual to use a variable wattage mod. This type of tank is not supposed to be used with anything but a temperature controlled mod, so I found this to be confusing as an experienced vaper which means that it is likely even more confusing to a new vaper.

I will give the Tesla Vortek props for having the ability to produce a delicious high quality flavor that leaves you certain of what your e-liquids are supposed to taste like. A few times when I was using this I honestly thought that I was eating and not vaping. The flavors were crisp and not muddled at all as they have been with some tanks that I have tried. The tank is a huge 7 ml, too. This is almost unheard of and with a tank this size you are not going to have to worry about filling it with e-liquid very often. It is a tank that you are going to be able to easily use all day long to enjoy your vaping.

Plus the tank is sturdy so you are not going to have to worry about dropping it and harming it. It is made from stainless steel. Of course it is a bit larger than some tanks because of the huge capacity but it does not seem over sized or too large. In fact the tank overall seemed to be very well put together and sturdy which is great for those of us living a more active lifestyle.
