0Vapor Flask Squonk Review | Vape Mod Review
“Squonking” has become a buzzword in the vaping community, and to save you a lap around Google the term refers to the function of mods that draw their eJuice from an internal storage unit instead of using an external tank.
Squonking in specific is the act of loading the wick with juice by squeezing this internal tank.
With squonking, there are no burnt tasting or dry hits since the wick is constantly saturated, and typically this setup allows for a higher capacity with all the flavor of direct dripping onto an atomizer.
The standard Vapor Flask DNA 40 mod was a true sensation, turning heads in stores and online with its uniquely polished profile as well as its high level of performance.
Now the model is back in a second iteration, this one taking advantage of the squonking technology that has quickly become an in-demand feature among curious and seasoned vapers.
Today’s Vapor Flask Squonk review aims to uncover how much potential this new form factor has for an established unit.

What’s New- Vapor Flask Squonk
Already based on one of 2015’s most finely appointed vapes, the Vapor Flask Squonk introduces the popular new bottom feeding setup to the model as well as adding a few new features.
Built with high grade stainless steel throughout the unit, the Vapor Flask Squonk retains the original’s ergonomic design while replacing the second battery in its dual-18650 setup with an included 15mL internal squonk bottle that works with a bottom fed atomizer to deliver juice directly to the coil.
The Squonk edition also features redesigned custom milled stainless steel buttons and other fittings to help set it apart while delivering the level of refinement vapers have come to expect from the Vapor Flask brand.
Control Modes
The Vapor Flask Squonk features variable wattage with an operational range from 1 to 40 watts, and this power level is regulated with unprecedented accuracy thanks to the advanced Evolv DNA 40 chip.
Power Source
The 18650-type battery that powers the Vapor Flask Squonk can be charged internally via the Micro USB charging port, which also enables passthrough technology for use while charging.
Performance
Performance levels on the Vapor Flask Squonk were very similar to the original model, which is a firm compliment.
The dripping-style system employed by this model delivers amazing flavor and substantial vapor even at lower wattage levels, with more power yielding a warmer vape with a flavor profile that was sometimes enhanced by the wattage.
The 15mL internal capacity is another bonus, and that much juice should help you push the limits of the internal 18650, which lasted a solid 3 days and change during testing.
Build Quality
The Vapor Flask is one of the few widely distributed models to be made and manufactured here in the USA, and the creators’ quest for the highest craftsmanship shows in the finished product.
The Vapor Flask Squonk is built with top grade 6061 aluminum finished with a sharp matte black bolstered by tasteful metallic accents.
The top-mounted screen is vividly bright, and the smart top placement means it’s visible every time you pick it up.
The quality of this device goes down to the securing screws and fittings, which are also made from high grade steel unlike many models who substitute these parts with less expensive metals.
Even the signature ergonomic design helps highlight the thought that went into the device, as it makes the reassuringly substantial weight extremely natural in the hand.
Yes, the Vapor Flask is one of the pricier units on the shelf, but the materials and build quality go a long way in justifying the premium price, as this is one of the best built vapes we’ve tested.
Threading
The Vapor Flask Squonk features 510 threading with spring-loaded copper contacts for high conductivity, but is only compatible with bottom feeding 510 atomizers, as it’s pretty tough for anything to flow through a nonexistent hole.
DNA 40 Processor
The DNA 40 processor that represents the brains of the Vapor Flask Squonk is one of the most advanced ever developed.
It’s designed with a range of stability and safety measures as well as direct temperature control that senses the coil directly for an industry leading level of safety, control and reliability.
Compare With…
Yiloong Geyscano 50w
Pickings for comparisons to the Vapor Flask Squonk are notoriously slim since the market sector is still relatively young, but the Yiloong Geyscano 50w is about as close a match as there is for the unit.
The Geyscano edges out the Vapor Flask with 50 watts of power compared to the 40W max output of the Squonk, but the subject of this review counters with a larger 15mL internal capacity compared with the 13mL offered by its counterpart.

We Would Have Liked to See…
As a relatively new product, finding objective critiques of a unit like the Vapor Flask Squonk can be tricky, particularly when the product in question does pretty much everything right.
The price could be bit lower, but then again you’re pretty much getting what you pay for here.
For the sake of full disclosure however, we do wonder how the top-mounted screen would fare in the event of leakage from overaggressive squonking, but that’s more of a user error than a serious flaw in the products design.
Maybe the point of this segment is to say you should be kinda careful with your $300 piece of vaping equipment.
Overview
As it stands, the Vapor Flask Squonk is one of the most intriguing products of the year, combining high design and high performance in a highly durable containment with a pretty effective new feeding system.
The conventional Vapor Flask has more than its share of fans, but the new Squonk edition just might give them something entirely new to love.
