Innokin iClear X.1 Review

The choice is yours with the all new Innokin iClear X.I clearomizer. It is the best clearomizer in the iClear line to date. It comes with a Pyrex Glass tank, an improved dual bottom coil design, a 3ml tank capacity, and also gives you the option between the popular iClear 30 rotatable mouthpiece, the non-rotatable drip tip, or a standard 510 drip tip.

It comes with two different coil resistance options of 1.5 and 2.1 ohms. Each iClear kit comes with the tank, coil heads and the drip tip. I think Innokin has finally put together all the right pieces to a clearomizer that will compete with the Aspire Nautilus and Kanger Aerotank.

Let’s dive into more of the specifics to why I’m absolutely thrilled about the X1, starting with the stainless pyrex glass tank.

Pyrex Tank

Innokin iclear x1 packagingOne of the newest additions that helps make Innokin’s new clearomizer rise above the rest of the “iClear line” is the stainless Pyrex glass tank. What makes the pyrex glass tanks so special? It’s the fact that you can start vaping on any juices you’ve ever wanted to, and not have to worry about “tank-crackers”. The Pyrex tanks are able to withstand the harsh e liquids like citrus, cinnamon and gummi-bear (to name a few). Mt. Baker Vapor put together a great list of all the juices that they have found to crack tanks. We put the link here so you can revisit them and maybe try them out once again!

Some of the more popular e liquids I’ve tried that are deemed “tank-crackers” are the Cinnamon Red Hot, Root Beer, and Wild Cherry. The iClear X.1 also claims to be leak-proof and prevents any e juice from getting into your mouth (which is always a bonus). Apart from the pyrex glass tank, Innokin has made visual improvements by etching out writing on the stainless tank in large letters “iClear X.1” and smaller letters “Taste it, Love it”. It gives it a unique look that kinda geeks me up a little bit. With the pyrex glass being added to Innokin’s newest clearomizer; I feel they have made a bound and a leap with the X.1 in their iClear line.

Capacity, Filling Instructions and Refilling Tools

The new Innokin X.I pyrex tank also comes with a good tank capacity of holding 3 ml of e liquid. Like always, it is imperative you know NOT to fill through the center hole within the clearomizer; this part of the clearomizer is used for airflow. Make sure you always know how to fill your new clearomizers properly.

With the dual bottom coil design on the iClear X.1 , turn the clearomizer upside down, unscrew and remove the bottom base, and fill it up. There are a couple of VERY useful tools that you can buy that will help you in filling e liquid in any clearomizer you own. You can use a 5ml e liquid refilling syringe, or a needle tip dripper. Using these items to fill your e juice up against the inner walls of the tank is where these tools become most useful.

BDC X.1 coils

iclear x1 coil headsThe iClear X.1 comes with the dual bottom coil setup (which I think is starting to become everyone’s’ favorite coil setup) with two options of resistance; 1.5 & 2.1 ohms. It allows you to keep your wick always submerged in e juice, allowing you to never again be annoyed to the twisting and turning of your device every time you wanna vape. They do have replaceable coil heads, and you can find them in 5-packs here.

When your vaporizer isn’t giving you as much vapor output as it first did, just remember all you have to do is replace the coil unit. All you do is make sure you empty out the iClear X.1 tank, and unscrew the bottom base part of the clearomizer. From there, you can unscrew the old coil, and pop the new one in, screw the bottom base back on snug and you’re ready to go!

Drip Tip Options

iClear 30 drip tipOptions galore! Innokin stepped it up this time around when it comes to their different drip tip options. See, a lot of people liked the iClear 30 360 mouthpiece, however somewhere along the line it was decided that the piece be threaded; therefore making it unreplaceable. That didn’t sit too well with many vapers, and it shouldn’t! We need to be able to change out as many pieces as we want and drip tips are no exception! Ok, there was my rant. Back to the options.

Thankfully, with the new iClear X.1, we have the option to have the 360 mouthpiece, the new non-rotatable drip tip that comes with the X1, or any standard 510 drip tip of your choosing. The choice is ours again! The non rotatable drip tip is stainless steel and slips into the top of the cap. It also comes equipped with a wide O-ring that keeps the drip tip secured nicely. Every vapor has his or her own preferences, but I think most of us are just glad that the mouthpiece isn’t threaded so that we can have more options!

Speaking of Threading

The iClear X.1 comes with the standard 510 connection, making it suitable for most batteries and devices. If you are in need of a 510/eGo adapter, look no further. These little connector pieces work really well.

Final Thoughts

So what did you think? Do you agree that this could be the next best clearomizer? Well, unfortunately I think this takes 3rd place for me. Right behind the Aerotank and Nautilus. The reason being, there is NO airflow control on the iClear X.1.One day Innokin will catch up and release a clearo that does have airflow control; and when they do I think it will outmatch any competitor. Until then, this newest iClear is the best in its’ line so far, and definitely deserves attention.

The coils I got for the iclear x.1 had 2 wicks not 4 like it shows, and i only can run my sigelei 40 watt at 3.65v at 6.5 watt. Anything over that burnt burnt burnt ! No LEAKS They say you can run it at 8 to 12 watts

  2. Dissatisfied says:

Mine leaked like crazy the first time I filled it. I have filled tried everything; loosening, tightening, cleaning, reassembling, replacing coils, and NO MATTER WHAT, I cannot get it to stop leaking. I am very dissatisfied, especially for something that is supposed to be leak proof. I had high hopes with it as I have been very satisfied with other Innokin products.

Mine is also leaking and it is getting a bit annoying please post if you come up with a solution. I am going to have to switch tanks pretty soon. I have also tried everything. Not to mention the gurgling noise that comes along with the leaking….ugh I was really hoping for a good experience!

i put the iClear x.1 on a Volcano Lavatube 2.0 and have been using it for a week almost, and am liking it very much. No leaking, easy to fill and the size is just right. It came with a swivel drip tip which was a plus for me.I have used it with 90/10 vg/pg and 50/50, and both are wicked up quite well.
